BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

 

We are looking for a B2B Business Development Intern. We want someone with tenacity and drive to meet and exceed our business development goals. We want a confident individual with great initiative.

Our expectation:

  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business

  • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes

  • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise others about them

Be resourceful. Network with your peers in the industry. Keep up with industry developments and new technologies. Waste is not an option. Be intentional.

Your job:

  • Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services

  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization

  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers

  • Meet customers/clients face to face or over the phone

  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively

  • Draw up client contracts - depending on the size of company, this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal

  • Ensure staff are on board throughout the organisation, and understand the need for change and what is required of them

  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates

  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate

  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.

You need to:

  • Be socially adept

  • Have excellent telephone manner

  • Have strong communication skills – written and verbal – to speak to a wide range of people

  • Be IT fluent – Excel, Word and PowerPoint especially

  • Have good project management skills

  • Have skills in prioritising and triaging obligations

  • Have great organisational skills

  • Have good networking skills

  • Be good with numbers

  • Have some understanding of online marketing concepts.

  • Be ready to work under pressure and on numerous projects.

  • Be ready and willing to do more than just the bare minimum

  • Pay strong attention to detail.
