Essentially, traditional marketing is interruptive while content marketing is permissive.
While traditional marketing may have the advantage of a wide reach, it’s also costly and hard to measure. Additionally, outbound marketing strategies aren’t as effective in this day and age.

Digital marketing encompasses all online marketing efforts such as Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC), social media, email etc. And while content marketing can be viewed as a subset of digital marketing, it’s also possible to have offline content marketing strategies. Another way of looking at it could be content marketing is a way of making digital marketing channels more effective through the production of valuable content.
